These terms cover this website, the magazines we sell, the forms on this site, and anything you send us.
1. Adults only
Everything here is for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly sell to, correspond with, or publish anybody under 18. If we find out that an order, nomination, photograph or submission involves someone under 18, we cancel it and delete what we hold.
2. What we sell
The custom retail edition. The only edition sold to the public through this site. Printed one copy at a time for one named adult buyer, using text and photographs they supply. Available in the EU, the USA, the UK and Canada; elsewhere on request, where our printers will ship.
The retail edition, plain, and the trade edition. Sold to shops and trade buyers only, in any quantity. Every full set of ten, which may mix the two editions, is at sixty percent of the suggested retail price; copies outside a full set are at suggested retail; VAT and shipping apply to both. Ordering requires a business name and a registration number, and shops set their own selling price. Neither is sold to the public through this site, and the trade edition is not sold to the public at all.
Custom copies sold through a shop are paid on a 40/40/20 split between the shop, the person doing the work, and Tinge World, on the retail price.
Back issues. When a new issue comes out, the previous retail edition stays available and can still be ordered as a custom copy. It moves to the archive rather than the front of the list.
3. Orders, invoices and payment
Orders are placed through the forms on this site or by email. An order is a request, not a contract, until we confirm it in writing and issue an invoice.
Invoices are issued by Tinge World. Payment is by IBAN transfer or Zelle. Zelle requires a US bank account. We do not take card payments and we do not store payment details.
Nothing is printed until the invoice is paid. Prices are stated on the invoice and include VAT where it applies.
4. Printing, shipping and delays
We print through third-party printers and ship through the post. Printing and delivery times are estimates, not promises, and we do not control the post.
If a copy arrives damaged, tell us within 5 days of delivery with a photograph and we reprint it at our cost. Five days rather than a fortnight, because we have to raise it with the printer inside their own window.
5. Cancelling and returns
Before printing. Cancel any order before it goes to print and we refund it in full.
After printing. Nothing is returnable once printed, in either edition. A custom copy is made to your specification and cannot be resold to anybody else, and we do not take back unsold trade copies.
Your statutory rights. If you are buying as a consumer in the EU you have rights that these terms cannot reduce. Where anything here conflicts with those rights, your rights win.
6. What you send us
Photographs and text for a custom copy. You confirm at the order that the photographs are yours to give us, that everyone recognisable in them has agreed, and that nobody in them is under 18. We hold the files only as long as stated in the privacy policy.
Nominations. A Budtender of the Year nomination must name the shop so we can reach the nominee. The shop name is working data. It is never published and it is deleted after the issue prints.
Nominees. Nothing about a nominee is published until that person signs the nominee release and chooses what appears.
Photographs for the gallery or the smoke buddy page. Gallery photographs only with a signed release from the person in the photograph. Smoke buddy photographs must be your own, with nobody under 18 in them.
Letters, classifieds, topics and submissions. Anything you send us may be printed, edited for length and clarity, and published on this site, unless you tell us otherwise. Tell us what to do with your name and we do that. We never print the name of a premises in a letter or a classified, including when you ask us to.
Editorial submissions. You keep the copyright in your writing. By sending it you give us the right to publish it once in POLYC, in print and on this site, and to keep it available in back issues. Payment, if any, is agreed in writing before you write.
7. What we publish, and what we refuse
Our full publishing rules are on the standards page and form part of these terms. In short, we do not carry: promotion of cannabis or of any point of sale, prices attached to a place you can buy, rankings or comparisons of premises, German cannabis club names, cultivation instructions, medical claims, or anything aimed at people under 18.
We refuse bookings and submissions that break those rules, and we say why.
8. Advertising
Space is confirmed in writing and invoiced before the issue prints. Rates are not published; ask for the current rate card. Booking closes 15 December 2026 for the January issue. We set copy and artwork to our specification. We may refuse or withdraw any advertisement that breaks the rules above, and we refund it if we do.
A directory listing is free, is not advertising, and cannot be bought, moved or emphasised. Buying advertising does not affect a listing.
9. Accuracy and corrections
We check what we print and we get things wrong anyway. When we do, we correct it in the next issue and on this site, and we say what was wrong.
Nothing in POLYC is legal, medical, financial or safety advice. Laws change, often faster than a quarterly magazine. Check the current rules for yourself before acting on anything you read here.
10. This website
The writing, photographs, illustrations and design on this site and in the magazines belong to Tinge World or to the people who made them. You may quote us with credit. You may not reproduce whole articles, pages or issues without asking.
Links to other sites are not endorsements.
11. Liability
We are a small publisher. We are responsible for delivering what you paid for and for correcting our own mistakes. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you take based on what you read.
Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited under Dutch law.
12. Complaints
Write to editor@tingeworld.com. We answer complaints in writing. If we cannot settle it between us, Dutch law applies and the Dutch courts have jurisdiction.
13. Changes
We update these terms as the business changes. The version in force is the one on this page, with the date at the top. The terms that apply to your order are the ones in force when we confirmed it.
